Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Billiary (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles your information when you use our mobile application.

App: Billiary
Developer: Nikola Banovic (Simple Daily Apps)

1. About Billiary

Billiary is a personal finance app that helps you track your monthly bills, due dates and payments. The current version of the app:

  • Does not require you to create an account
  • Stores your bill data locally on your device
  • Does not upload your bill data to our own servers

Premium features (if enabled) remain offline and local-only as well. Premium unlocks optional functionality such as exports, backups, and advanced statistics — without creating accounts or syncing your bill data to our servers.

2. Information We Collect

When you use Billiary, you can choose to enter information such as:

  • Bill names (for example “Rent”, “Electricity”)
  • Amounts, currencies and due dates
  • Whether a bill is marked as paid or unpaid
  • Optional notes, categories, tags or descriptions
  • Optional income, budget, account balance and currency information
  • QR scan results used to prefill bill or receipt details
  • Optional bill attachments selected by you, such as photos, screenshots, PDFs, invoices or receipts

All of this information is stored locally on your device using the app’s local storage / database and local app file storage.

We do not have direct access to this data and it is not automatically sent to us.

Some platform-specific versions of Billiary (for example, the Google Play or iOS version) may include optional analytics or crash reporting services (such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, Google LLC) to help improve stability and performance.

When present, these services may collect limited technical information such as:

  • App interactions (for example, which screens are opened and basic feature usage)
  • Device information (device model, OS version, language, region)
  • App version and installation identifiers
  • Crash and diagnostics data (crash stack traces, performance and error logs)

We do not send your bill names, amounts, notes, QR scan contents, attachment files, or other user-entered bill data to analytics or crash reporting services.

The Huawei AppGallery version does not include analytics SDKs and does not transmit usage data to third-party analytics providers.

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All bill-related data is stored on your device in the app’s local database (for example, internal storage / Room database). Optional attachment files are stored locally in the app’s private file storage.

We do not:

  • Operate our own backend server to store your bill data
  • Sync your bill data to our own servers
  • Sell or rent your personal information

If you uninstall the app, the locally stored data and local attachment files are normally deleted from your device as part of the uninstall process.

If you use manual JSON backup/export, the exported JSON file may include bill and settings data, but local attachment files are not included in JSON backups yet.

4. Permissions Used by the App

Billiary may request certain system permissions in order to function properly:

  • Notifications / Alarms – used to remind you of upcoming bills and due dates on your device.
  • Camera – used to scan bill and receipt QR codes, and to let you optionally take photos of bills, invoices, receipts or payment documents as attachments.
  • Photos / media / file access – used only when you choose photos, screenshots, PDFs, invoices, receipts or other supported files to attach to a bill, or when you import/export a backup file.
  • Network access (where needed) – used for optional features that require internet access, such as in-app purchases, opening external links, or resolving supported receipt verification links after you scan them. Core bill tracking works offline.

Billiary does not request access to your contacts, microphone, SMS or precise location.

5. Third-Party Services

The app is distributed via Google Play, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery. These platforms may collect certain device or store-related information when you download, install, or update the app, according to their own policies.

Some platform-specific versions (for example, the Google Play or iOS version) may include analytics or crash reporting services such as Firebase (Google LLC) to help measure basic app usage and diagnose crashes.

The Huawei AppGallery version does not include analytics SDKs.

Platform services may be used only for their intended app functionality. For example, in-app purchase services may be used to verify Premium purchase status, and QR scanning services may be used to read QR codes from bills or receipts.

6. Future features

Billiary Premium (if enabled) remains offline and local-only.

In the future, Billiary may introduce optional features such as cloud backup or sync. If we introduce features that store data on external services, we will clearly explain what data is stored, how it is used, and update this Privacy Policy accordingly.

You will still be able to use Billiary without creating an account.

7. Children’s Privacy

Billiary is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@billiary.com so we can take appropriate action.

8. Data Security

Because your bill data is stored locally on your device, the security of that data also depends on how you secure your device (for example, using a strong screen lock and keeping your system up to date).

We recommend that you:

  • Use a strong device passcode or biometric lock
  • Keep your operating system and apps up to date
  • Avoid sharing your device with people you do not trust

When we introduce cloud-based features, we will take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information in transit and at rest.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your region, you may have rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct or delete it.

In the current local-only version of Billiary, you control your data directly on your device:

  • To view or edit your data, use the app interface to edit or delete a bill.
  • To remove attachment files, open the bill and remove the attachment, or delete the bill.
  • To remove all data, you can delete bills manually and/or uninstall the app from your device (which normally removes the local database and local attachment files).

If, in the future, you use cloud sync or account-based features, we will provide ways to request access to, export or deletion of your cloud-stored data.

10. International Data Transfers

At this time, Billiary basic does not transfer your bill data globally because it is only stored on your device.

If in the future we use cloud services located in other countries, your data may be processed there, and we will update this section accordingly.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

In the case of significant changes (for example, introduction of cloud sync or new third-party services), we may also notify you in the app.

We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how your information is handled.
